My ATU SWR detector is damaged. I suspect it was my fault. I may have touched the Morse key when it was in auto tune, sending around 50 Watts the wrong way. So now I get a poor SWR reading, >2.0, into a perfect dummy load. The ATU is the latest type.
Opening up the unit I can't see any recognisable SWR detection circuit that I am used to, and can't see any obvious damage to the components.
I wonder if anyone has suggestions as to how I can fix this. Sending it back for repair from Singapore is not economically worth while.
I have an easy work-around. I have not connected the RF to the ATU at all. I only have the power and motor connected, and simply use the up down buttons to tune for maximum noise on the receiver, then fine tune using 20 Watts or so for best SWR ratio.
I am otherwise very pleased with my Baby Loop.
