Hi, I am new to this forum, in fact, any forum; so please bear with me. I have two HF rigs: Yaesu FT - 991 and a Kenwood TS-590. I have had no problem linking the auto-detect with the Yaesu. However, it is a different matter with the Kenwood. This was due to a compatibility problem. But then a few days ago, to my delight, v.3.22 was released. With great anticipation I uploaded and installed the firmware. In addition, I installed the latest firmware for the Kenwood. Linked the 2 items together; no joy! I must be doing something wrong - please help? PS I have just e-mailed Cireo a few minutes ago before discovering this forum. However, I believe they are closed for the weekend. One of you may be able to help.

Did you find any solution to your problem? I am struggling with a TS-590SG that I can't get Full Auto to work. I have tried different baud rates and even different cables but no joy :(

Hi Neil thank you for returning my post. I am so pleased, NOT about you having this problem, but that I am not alone. Surely we both cannot be wrong. The brief answer to your question is NO!. I too have an TS-590SG. It could be that the problem could be due to this particular model. I wonder if you could contact Ciro and mention we share the same problem. Please excuse the delay of my reply but I have been very busy. XMAS and all that. If you wish to contact me directly you are welcome to do so. My call Sign is G4ZDE and I am in the book.

I hope you have had a good XMAS and look forward to a happy new year. robert_g4zde@sky.com

Hi Robert.

Apologies for the delay in replying, I have had a little time away from the radio.

I have found the solution to the problem, or at least my problem. My problem was I was using a DB9 to DB9 RS232 Null Modem cable. I ordered a DB9 to DB9 RS232 "Straight" cable which arrived today and alas I have the loop operating in full auto with the Kenwood.

This is the lead I purchased:

Just wish the use of a straight cable was mentioned in the manual.
